Need help adding window-manager to login list of choices

Greetings. Just installed the latest Mint. I'm pretty certain it's using "lightdm" to manage logons. There are 3 choices in the window-manager selection list: "GNOME", "GNOME Classic", and "GNOME Classic (no effects)". I installed "Afterstep", my preferred wm from the repositories, but after rebooting it still did not show up in the list. I searched this forum and did not find anything helpful. I googled and found this: http://www.haskell.org/haskellwiki/Xmon ... d_in_Gnome, which looked exactly what I was looking for, but after following those instructions, still no joy. What is the proper way to add a windowmanager to the choices for logging on in Mint's vsn. of LightDM?
