hello i am trying to add chromium to the panel but when i right click on the browser nothing happens,any ideas on how to get the right click working please ?

If this is gnome3, it appears a lot of this functionality is gone. you need to add it back by finding and installing extensions. I have found my way to MATE, which is a gnome2 fork, and much more comfortable for now. Maybe we will all have to conform eventually...
