Hello,
Linux Mint 12 LXDE clean install here (updated today).
When I'm trying to start Firefox, it just keeps freezing (9 times out of 10).
Any idea what's wrong?
Everything was working fine in Linux Mint 11 LXDE.
Thanks.
PS: Not to mention Google Search is still missing from Firefox

Hi dslibre,
I recommend this test. Open a terminal and type this command:
Your current Firefox configuration has been saved in the folder '~/.mozilla.old'.
Then open Firefox and check if it is stable.
If you need to restore your current config, type these commands:
Google is available as search engine. Go to Manage search engines.
Regards,
Luis

Hey lmarmisa,
Unfortunately, Firefox is still freezing at start. Well, it occasionally starts (like every 10th time), but keeps freezing later anyway...
I suspect fglrx driver is causing this behaviour, but I'm not sure.
thanks for the hint, I've tried that, in fact I even deleted whole .mozilla directory (it's clean install and all my important stuff is synced via Firefox Sync anyway).lmarmisa wrote: I recommend this test...

Re: Firefox freezes at start
I am not having Freeze up problems but Firefox is laggy as heck on my Lxde install. Although I dont normally use Chrome, I installed Chromium and it runs good.
So not sure why but something is not right with this lxde and firefox versions.

Yeah, Chromium working 100% fine all the time. I would say something is not right with Firefox in general these days (week, months...). It's a pity it was really great browser onceGnarly wrote:I am not having Freeze up problems but Firefox is laggy as heck on my Lxde install. Re: Firefox freezes at start
I installed yesterday and had the same problem as well. It may have got better with all the updates that came down and a few restarts (although can't remember). In the end I couldn't get chrome on their fast enough. I had LXDE on there for about 18 hours (trying to make it all work), but I ran into too many other issues I just couldn't resolve and I needed a working computer today. Going back to Gnome.

I have the same problem as well. I tried install latest nvidia driver and remove all mozzila config files, but still the same problem. By the way thunderbird freezing too. Any idea please?
