mintBackup Fork - some questions

Postby ryandburnett on Sun Apr 18, 2010 6:12 am

Hello,

Whats language is it programmed in? Python and Glade? I'm just tying to get my head around how these things are constructed :D Or is it using Java? As if I ever get as good as you I will be one happy boy!

Thanks,

--- Ryan

I mean...

Code: Select all
#include <iostream>

int main() {
      std::cout << "Thanks!\n" << "--- Ryan" ;
      return 0;
}

:lol:

Code: Select all
#!/usr/bin/env python

import pygtk
pygtk.require("2.0")
import gtk

class Yes(gtk.Window):

   def destroy(self, widget):
      gtk.main_quit()

   def __init__(self):
      super(Yes, self).__init__()
      self.set_size_request(400, 200)
      self.set_title("Yes")
      self.connect("destroy", self.destroy)
      self.set_position(gtk.WIN_POS_CENTER)
      label1 = gtk.Label('Yes. mintbackup is built with Python and Glade.')
      self.add(label1)
      self.show_all()

if __name__ == "__main__":
   Yes()
   gtk.main()

mintBackup Fork

Postby ryandburnett on Mon Apr 19, 2010 11:43 am

Hey,

I will start on Python and Glade :D after I have finished my Wordpress theme for a blog I'm setting up, Mint tutorials, well the slogan is "Mint tuts and other geeky stuff...". As it is now I'm getting some nice CSS3 stuff in including the @font-face which works with all browsers, that right, I tamed Internet Explorer! There is a special way to do it, I can tell you if ya like :), and I have made a footer that sits on the bottom of the screen if the content dosent push it past the bottom. You just set the body height to 100%, html height to 100%, then a wrapper to min-height of 100%, and the footer to a negative margin-top of 35px (assuming its 35px tall).

I will send you guys the link once its finally completed :) , its a nice layout, dont know about the design tough!

Cheers,

--- Ryan.

Heyy

http://linuxdaemons.info/blog/2010/04/1 ... #comment-2

I know this sounds bad comming from the theme author, but does anyone know how I style the theme comments, gravtar and all :)

Thanks

EDIT

How annoying am I eh, after 1 hour, then I post this, then 1 min later I solve it LOL, here is the solution:
Code: Select all
<?php foreach($comments as $comment) : ?>
<?php comment_author(); ?>
<?php comment_text(); ?>
<?php endforeach; ?>

Then you add divs ect for styling and you can add other tags such as...
Code: Select all
<?php comment_ID(); ?>
Comment ID!
