Help connecting 2 Mint Laptops with crossover. Pings okay...

Postby Scott65 on Mon May 14, 2012 9:40 pm

Hi.

I've got 32bit Mint 12 on a Dell 1525 and 64bit Mint 12 on Dell 5110 connected with crossover cable. Network set up on both, pings okay both ways. Openssh server and sshfs on both. Shared folders set up on both.

From the 32bit pc, I can mount and see the Music folder on the 64 bit- but it won't accept my password.

From the 64 bit, it sees the other PC (pings fine) but trying to access it through Nautilus gives an error "Unable to mount location, failed to retrieve share list from server". I've got folders setup to share just like the other laptop.

confused am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

I've also got 2 computers connected with a crossover cable, but I don't use ssh or other fancy stuff. I do, however, have proftpd installed, so that one box can act as a server. It's the only thing I can think of that you may be missing.
