New dsl modem, now no internet?

Postby Analog_Dreams on Sun May 20, 2012 8:06 pm

I've been running Mint 12 for the last 6 months with no problems until we had a really bad thunderstorm the other day that burned up my dsl modem (fried it from the phone line, dsl/phone splitter is torched)...I bought a new combo modem/router, and although it works fine with Windows 7 and XP, it is not working with Mint. I keep getting the black box at the bottom of the desktop that says "Disconnected-you are now offline" even though everything is connected. What's going on, and how can I fix it? Thanks for any help you can give.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Hey,

try to connect your LM machine to a port of the router where on of the other OS machines are plugged in.
