[Solved] Network stoped working after update

Postby Garvan on Wed Aug 01, 2012 7:32 am

Hi, I clicked on update last thing before going to bed last night, and this morning I cannot get Firefox to conect to the Internet. Skype works correctly, and I can conect if I type an address in numerical format, so I assume it is the DNS look that is broken. The window computers on the same network work fine.

This is the update log:

The issue fixed itself when I let the computer run over supper. I will leave the post up for now in case the problem returns.

One change I made was to add opendns servers to the network sttings.

Thanks for the link. I understand what changed now. Anybody relying on /etc/resolv.conf to set DNS servers is in for a surprise.
