Problem with ethernet connection on Gateway NV53

Hi! I have a problem on Gateway NV53 laptop, installed Mint 12. Without any problems I can established internet connection with WiFi adapter, but when I want to connect ethernet cable, internet don't working.
Post a message, something like: "Disconnect: No internet connection". I don't have wifi router at home, just ethernet internet connection. I'm trying to disable automatic connection, turning off wifi, without success. If anyone could help me I would be gratefull:)
