I keep getting a notification for the wired network:

"Connection Failed - Activation of network connection failed"
"Wired Network: Disconnected"

it repeats constantly every 30 seconds or so...

*** Note: I am not using the wired connection - there is nothing plugged into it - when I do have something plugged in, it works great, and the wireless has been working great ***

is there a way to stop the OS from trying to connect when there's nothing plugged in? The only way I can stop this is manually deactivating the wired connection. This is on an ASUS G75SX laptop.

an update seems to have fixed the problem. now the wired connection reports "cable unplugged" with zero notifications.

also, random other annoyances have gone away as well, such as the battery not reporting actual charge until reboot. strange!
