Wired Connection Not Working

Postby whyaname on Wed Mar 13, 2013 6:24 pm

Hi All,

I have a Windows 8/Linux Mint 14 dual boot laptop. I live in a student complex with a connection port in my room. Mint 14 refuses to connect to the internet even though the net works perfectly on Windows 8. What happens is that the connection notification displays a connected and then disconnected message every few seconds. To better illustrate it, this is what I get when I ping 8.8.8.8 :

What could the problem be?

Thanks for your help.
