So i got xp sp3 and linux mint 5 to dual boot..
i installed xp first then linux
i can use dsl internet for both xp and linux for a while, then while i was on xp, the dsl stopped working.
so i booted linux, and it has internet. That means my dsl service is fine.
The problem seems to be with xp sp3.
i remebered having the problem while i was updating avg antivirus free.
I was trying to log in on yahoo messenger, but i can't
the message the dsl network shows is, "Limeted or No Connectivity"
Thanks for any help.

Re: Linux Mint 5 has internet, but windows xp pro sp3 doesn't.
Fixed my own problem!
Sorry, for being a total noob and did not searched the net first.
Anyways, posting this for other people that might encounter the same problem.
The reason is that avg asked me if i wanted to delete a trojan.
Apparently, this trojan is not really a trojan, it is for my dsl settings
All i did was to download WinsockFix and use it, powered the modem on and it was fixed.
download it here, http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=257
Winsock removes and restores the cable dsl settings.
