I would like to share the Internet connection on my laptop using Mint with another pc using Windows 7.
The hardware setup is this:
Internet is provided via a cable modem, which is connected with a network switch.
To the switch, 3 more computers are connected, each of which have one ethernet port.
The problem is that the cable modem can only deal with two individual pcs, meaning that if I want to connect another one, I need to reset the modem - it will then remember the first two pcs that connect with it. As this is a bit inconvenient in the long run, I would like to use my Mint-based laptop to share its connection with one of the other computers.
The thing is, I have found some tutorials, but they assume that I use more than one network adaptor in the sharing pc (e.g. 1 wireless + 1 ethernet, or 2 ethernet in one pc). However, I have only the switch to connect the different devices...
So my question is, can I setup a shared internet connection with this config, and if yes, than how?
