I have a file server with Fedora 18 and it hosts all of my files: movies, music, pictures, games, etc.
Last weekend I did an upgrade from Mint 16 to Mint 17 but today I tried to "connect to server" and get the following errors:
- Can't load the supported server method list, Please check your gvfs installation
- nemo cannot handle "smb" locations
- nemo cannot handle "network" locations
Never had this problem before with Mint 13, 14 & 16
Something must have been corrupted during the upgrade.
System Specs:
Mint 17 64-bit
AMD Phantom II 3-core
4 Gig RAM DDR3 1333
Samsung 128GB SSD
GeForce 550 Ti
I have done some google searching but nothing similar has come up about "connect to server", nemo, gvfs or my related errors.
Does anyone have a solution?

Re: Mint 17 - gvfs can connect to server
It almost sounds like gvfs-backends isn't installed on Mint17.
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install gvfs-backends
Please add a [SOLVED] at the end of your original subject header if your question has been answered and solved.

That did it! "Connect to Server" still gives me the same error, but I havn't restarted yet.
smb:// works fine now!
Thank you very much!
