Hi Albert!
My lan card was RTL8168 but the driver was RTL8169, I fixed the problem in Mint 12 per this instructions -> http://unixblogger.wordpress.com/2011/10/18/the-pain-of-an-realtek-rtl8111rtl8168-ethernet-card/

Can you confirm that my problem won't exist upon booting Mint 13?

I have been told that the r8169 driver is fixed in Linux 3.2 and now works well when connecting to gigabit ethernet.

on Mint 13 x64 I still have this issue, had to follow a tuto and to compile the 8168.ko file to make it works :(
so the bug is still present
