I am on the road so I might not have all the info that is going to be requested, but I thought that I'd post it anyway just in case it was something simple that I was missing.
I was playing with the full dvd version of Mint 12 and wanted to see what KDE v.s. Gnome was like (I am still trying to wrap my brain around the difference between 'Desktops' and 'windows managers').
Anyhow, I am also setting up a FreeNas8 storage solution that my windows computers can (and have) connected to.
You can set up a "Specific" Share for Linux Machines, I just have not done this yet.
Here is the question:
When I ran the Gnome version, it saw "Samba Shares on Freenas" and was able to connect to it without a hitch! I thought that was interesting.
I lit up the KDE version, and it would NOT connect. (When I get home, I'll post the exact message)
Am I missing something here?
Is Linux Mint 12 basically not the same underlying system?
