Mint LXDE is a billion times better than the currently available MATE.
Mint LXDE is fantastic desktop polished everywhere.
MATE is a collection of rough edges and it is more resource hungry.

true but its a suggestion till lxde comes out.i wasnt really fond of it though i have mint 11 lxde on the desktop here at the house.its pretty quick and sleektry checking mint community when the lxde will be released

I'm next interesting in LXDE updates - now it has very old (i.e. having known outstanding security problems) kernel, flashplayer, firefox and other pieces of everyday using software. Where are all these updates? Have I misses something?
