Cheap T-shirts

Postby seth556 on Wed Dec 09, 2009 9:26 am

I've noticed there's no cheap place to buy linux t-shirts, would more people be intrested in buying them if they were cheap say $10 - $12 and the profits made would go to a good cause such as helping me go to college. Plus if you could prove you were a student I could sell you the shirt at just costs.

haha I'm not trying to start a scam if that's what you were thinking. Although if you are looking for a scam I can just give you my paypal address and feel free to send money.

But really, would people be interested in shirts or is would it be a waste of time.

I think that cheap shirts is something that people would definitely want. Though of course when I say cheap I mean in price not in quality.

Having a Mint store on this website that sell shirts would probably help in the costs that it takes to create and maintain Mint. Should probably talk to clem about incorporating shirts into a store. If you are able to make the shirts yourself and not outsource the work to someone else then it would be probably a good idea to have you make the shirts so that Mint and yourself gets the money. :)

While it is a good idea, and I would be willing to buy one ... there is another thread, on this self same subject.

I'd imagine that the community would want to see designs. Can you show us some examples?

My opinion is that it is not profitable for any company to come with Linux t-shirts. Since Linux has a small share worldwide and Windows a hugh share, not many people would know what Linux is. So, for manufacturers there's not a large market for selling Linux shirts.

If you want a t-shirt or sweater or other stuff with the Linux Mint logo, then this would be put forward by the community to find a manufacturer which can, in limited quantities and at a low price, produce clothing with the Mint logo and use the profits for supporting the further development of Mint.

An other option is to print the t-shirts at your own cost at some print store.
