Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

It occurs to me that midnight commander, and gui file system explorers like gnome-commander and tux commander might already fulfil this need, and the OP may well be advised to concentrate their efforts supporting those existing projects? Sorry, quick post and loads on, apologies if I'm wrong here.

Edited my point to add some clarifications.

But thanks for the names of some more applications.

I'll try:
* Tux Commander
* Gnome Commander

And see if I will focus my project on creating some other software or if they still doesn't give me the old feeling of total commander.

Try "bsc" as well. another Two-paner .
look under 'b' in synaptic.

I've always preferred Gnome-commander, & maybe similar to the old Norton Commander,
upon which Total Commander is based.
