but has any progress been made is this area, i am in the process of testing barebones (nettops) PCs to run a linux distro on
the only thing i have found close enough is linux mint, coming with libre office which comes really really close to MS office suite.
the business world needs something like linux, my company is gearing up to start injecting linux into the small business world.
it's a great OS works stable there's an army of developers that contribute to it, any info on this would be appreciated thanx guys.

Yes, there is one... since early 90s...

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

just for future reference mostly,

i think the 'lack' of more dicussion on this matter has shown that 'not enought' people comming here are interested in a 'linux mint for enterprise' and honnestly in cant blame them as cinamon is far to new (and fast paced development) to be considered enterprise ready. even though i would guess that many office users would prefer it over unity as a desktop shell.

about the rhell thing earlier, im happy to state that the company i worked for when i posted my last message, has finally desided to migrate to debian stable and i was one of the luck ones to initiate that project before i was redeployed.

but if anyone ever wants some talk about how mint could help thair (small)buysiness linux-adoption, i would be more than willing to help out where and when i can..

Linux in a SME enviroment would work, though.

- most of those, are using just 1 - 2 PCs for their business, anyway.

the PC that is used 'on-line' could easily be a Linux based PC,
& the PC that does the accounting, would be the 'off-line' based PC.
& would probably still be a M$ O/S as those software packages , still need that O/S.

And Red Hat is worth 10 Billions in NYSE:
