Im a fairly new Mint user and I've never been convinced by the slogan - its pretty good but not great. IMHO to much focus on freedom. I belive that most ordinary computer users want a OS that simply works, is visually appealing and is free (that is, free as in cheap, not as in open source-free). Not if they use proprietary software or not. Maybe this is another issue, but its surely an issue that affects the slogan.
So what do we want to say with the slogan? What message do we want to give? If we want to focus on freedom and elegance, then we could keep the current slogan.
But in the end I agree on some earlier replies: does Linux Mint really need a slogan? I think it would be mature, bold and elegant to perhaps remove it completely.
Just some spontaneous thoughts.
