Pleased to meet you. I was a windows User, then a Mac user (which I still am). Whilst using my Mac, and -- thanks to my job working for a tech company in NYC called The Conspiracy -- I did a pretty decent job of managing the command-line, so this made me think that I'm ready for a Linux laptop wherein I could play around. Just recently, I bought a used Windows laptop and installed Linux Mint 13 Maya Cinnamon 64-bit No-Codecs on it. So far, I love it! Everything is working great! Except for one thing:
On my Macintosh, I have my printer set to be shared by everyone. So does my sister's on hers (which was my old Mac). That should make my printers shared on this Mint laptop (which I'll call "minty"), right? Wrong! Whenever I try to add my sister's or my printer in the printers settings pane, I get an error dialog box which says "Failed to add new printer.".
What should I do?
If you feel this is too vague and you need me to print any extra diagnostic information, just tell me the terminal commands and I'll cut-and-paste them.
