Copying over SFTP

Postby lordfreak on Sun May 20, 2012 10:06 am

Hi all,

recently I switched from ubuntu to linux mint.
Now I encounter a problem when trying to copy files from mint (12) to ubuntu server 10.04.

First of all, I can't copy the files via ctrl+v or using right click.
When I drag the files from a window, they do copy, but otherwise not.
This is only with some files, and the right on the folders is the same.
It's not a really big deal, but still a bit of an annoyance.

Secondly some files I try to copy lose their exif data.
I copy .jpg, not a problem. But when I copy .MTS files, they lose their exif data.
I use the exif data to sort the files, so it's a real bummer.

This is only when copying from computer to server, not when moving/copying the files on the computer.

If anybody has any ideas on how to fix this, that would be great!

with kind regards,

lordfreak

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
