LM13: DHCP add search path to DNS

I am currently running LM13 (x64) at work. Since I installed the OS, when I connect to my corporate network I cannot connect to any systems without using the full DNS name (IP address works as well). I was using Ubuntu 10.04 previous to this without issue. Is there a way to force the addition of a search path to DNS when using DHCP? There is no /etc/resolv.conf file to edit so that's not an option.

Any help greatly appreciated.
