audio over home network "airport" for linux

I've got a home server set up with my tv and nice speakers. What I want to do is have some kind of shared sound card server on the home server and be able to connect to it like OSX can with an airport with my laptop. Both are running linux mint. I might be missing something obvious but I'm still pretty new to linux stuff like this.
