VNC Connection Error

Hello all -

I am attempting to connect my Maya laptop to an Unbuntu 12.04 using VNC. I have tried TightVNC and RealVNC, but I get an error:

getaddrinfo: 'Name or service not known' (-2)

I can connect from Windows 7 -> Server with no issues, but I can't seem to figure out what is keeping me from connecting in LinuxMint. Any help, or a link to the correct topic, would be appreciated!
