iptables - survive after reboot

Hey all,

I've searched the forum as well as Google for this answer and I can't find it. I want to manually save iptables. I've tried iptables-save which shows that it saves, but it does not survive a reboot. All other posts I could find asking this said use ufw. I don't want to use ufw. Any ideas?
