port forwarding for multimedia stream

Postby gökhan on Tue Feb 12, 2013 10:48 am

Hello,

I have a satellite receiver (with enigma2 image) which is connected to the home network through the desktop computer. The satellite receiver is connected to the computer via a cross-over lan cable; and the desktop computer is connected to the wireless home network via a 300Mbps usb wireless dongle. I use Firestarter for portforwarding.

I can receive the multimedia stream over the wireless network. But my problem is; whenever I start receiving the stream (via vlc player for example), a few minutes later the video starts playing like stop-motion with interreptions every few seconds.

My OS installed on the computer with port redirection is LinuxMint 14. What should I do on this computer to have a fluid, uninterrupted port forwarding (for multimedia stream)?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
