visual feedback of x11vnc operation when installed as a svc

Thanks to the thread viewtopic.php?f=157&t=109097&hilit=x11vnc
I now have a way to roll out contemporary LinuxMint workstations with reliable VNC capabilities.

There is one problem, though:

Has anyone figured out how to display the tray icon if x11vnc is started as a service in this way?

In other words, after a user logs on, I would appreciate the x11vnc tray icon to appear so that there is some sort of visual confirmation that a remote session is (or is not) taking place.

IAnother option would be the "-solid red" option, which would be a fine solution too . . . but I can't seem to get it working with Cinnamon.

Users want a confirmation when someone is looking at what is going on with their workstation.
