[SOLVED] Some networkmanager issue with NNTPGrab

Post by nomko »

Hi,

I've installed a usenet download application called NNTPGrab using the following PPA: https://launchpad.net/~openftd/+archive/ubuntu/ppa. But after installing it I get the following error message when i start the application:
Could not initialize NMClient /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager: The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service file
What does this mean?
Any help/advise will be very much appreciated!

I'm not sure if this will help. Googling that error got several different solutions but this one I saw maybe 3 times. Maybe it's worth a try...

Gnome-keyring is already installed, so this is not the cause of my issue.
But i don't have the nm-applet problem.

I found lots of documentation and even a wiki page on NTTPGrab... but oh my... it's all in Dutch. There has to be a how-to or reference to that error somewhere. Maybe this helps, I'll bet you can read it without Google Translate...

Then there's this "dbus access rights" stuff I found too...
