CTRL-ALT-DEL at bootup

Postby iEvolution on Fri Aug 07, 2009 6:29 pm

I just installed mint4win and when it boots up instead of going straight to the login screen I have to press CTRL-ALT-DEL to get the login screen. Anyway I can fix this?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

OK, sounds like a bootloader issue/partition/configuration issue, too many chainloads +1 entries perhaps..
ctrl alt del is simply a restart in Linux, including Linux mint7, and can actually pop up the shutdown menu, if you enter that key combination within the desktop
--it is also a way to shutting down the system if it hangs up..

And since mint4win is a VM (Virtual Machine), like virtualbox or Vmware, then the configuration of mint within that VM becomes important..
