uninstall screwed up windows

Postby a-d-s on Tue Jan 04, 2011 8:21 pm

I un-installed mint4win from the XP add/remove programs window. When I rebooted it got to the splash page for XP (right before the login page) and then it just goes black and reboots again. It does this if I choose safe-mode also. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

You did make a recovery disk for your Windows installation, right? Just pop that in and do a disk check and/or select the repair option so that it can fix your MBR. If that doesn't work, stick in a live Linux Mint disk, open GParted, right-click on the windows partition and select "check". It will check and try to repair the file system. If those don't work I think you're hosed. You will need to reinstall Windows and/or delete Windows and just install Linux Mint.
