using of games in mint

I am new in Linux and linux mint is my first operation system ,
1- How can i play games in linux mint , because i have install mint 7 on my computer but in the application part there are not never games (like other distribution of linux i.e ubunto)
2- I used openoffice -database for making a simple database , but when I save it on my computer i have a problem and i can not use it again , please help me .

try -> menu-system-Software Manager. ( games)

it's the size of that CD that restricts games from loaded in the initial setup.
