No one could have a small estimate of the date of mint6kde4 rc release, just to dream a little?

KDE 64, is this going to happen soon?
Given comments of the Mint leadership it seems they think the trend towards 64 Bit is irreversible, so I would think KDE 64 would be inevitable, but the question is when. Thanks.

Hi,

Great News!

I want only Synaptic

Well, i will try to revove adept manager (from Mint KDE CE 6 RC1) but if the removal couse any harm to the system,
i will stick with KDE CE 5 version 3.5.10 Elyssa. (a very, very good system).

Rob Brill,

Remember, adept is just a GUI front end for apt. The same as synaptic. You should be able to remove adept and/or synaptic without doing any harm to the system. Just be careful and don't let synaptic remove any of the apt package management system in the process. If I were trying to remove adept, I would use < sudo apt-get -u remove program_name > in the terminal. It will be more precise and less likely to take more than you bargained for.

Sorry guys,

My brother e-mail me home to write this on the forum

There is no KDE CE 6 RC1 Felicia release yet

Boo said he uploaded an ISO to exploder to test it and maybe it can become
A Mint KDE CE 6 RC1

He ( Roberto) was thinking ahead about adept manager removal from the the system

Sorry again

Fred post below:

Yes Fred, that's right.! (I) we want a Linux Mint KDE CE 6 Felicia with a Mint Flavor.

If you guys want it that bad, just add the Kubuntu repository and install it that way. It will update your system to KDE 4.2 and you will still have almost all the MintTools with the exception of the MintMenu. When the KDE CE comes out, you're going to reformat and start over anyway. so you may as well just do this for the interim. I did, and it works good. I am just not a KDE person; I really prefer Gnome.

dlkreations,

If it were that easy to make a Mint KDE version, we would have had it a long time ago. :-)

I am not saying you couldn't get it to work, it is just that it wouldn't be Mint KDE.

I think I may have been misunderstood. All I was mentioning was that they could install KDE 4.2 (as I did) in the meantime while the KDE CE was being prepared. All of the MintTools that I tested worked fine for me with the exception of the MintMenu. Yes, there are a some Mint ingredients missing, but they'd still have KDE 4.2. Granted most are going to reformat once the CE is available anyway, so there was no harm in posting a temporary remedy in the meantime.

Oh and everyone can call me Don, instead if dlkreations. Guess I'll add a signature so everyone knows. :D

I was reading online about google gadget's integration with plasma and for it to work it looks like plasma has to be compiled with certain code from the "google-gadgets-for-linux" project (http://code.google.com/p/google-gadgets-for-linux/). Kubuntu didn't compile plasma with this code because it didn't have an adequate license. http://forum.kde.org/google-gadgets-in- ... 28883.html . What will the next kde ce have? I know I would appreciate it if it had google gadget integration. I think mint comes with proprietary drivers so I don't think the license will be a problem.
thanks.

Hi, i've read on the blog that mint6kde is going to be relaesed!
Yesterday i've tried kubuntu 9.04 alpha4 and it seems to work very well; i looked around and i like it. This is an alpha, mint will be an rc, so...

That will be my passage from 2years of gnome to kde... :D
