Those seem quite necessary to me. At least you should make it official policy for translators to stick to the established term. I've just 'fixed' two Croatian translations, and then I looked at the one for mintInstall, which wasn't done by the same author - translations for "Trash" and "Home" differ - and that was just a quick glance. Spelling/grammar errors, inconsistencies, deviation from standard usage, improper/wrong terms - at the very least, make Mint look less polished.
