Donations for promotion

What if we took donations so it would be affordable to put advertisements on the main page of Linux.com, Computerworld US/UK, ZDNet, qj.net, Mininova, The Pirate Bay, Slashdot, and other large sites like that? Comments?

It would likely be up to Clem and the Mint team to decide on where their money should be best spent. IMO if the money Mint gets is used 100% for continuous distribution development and improvement the press and people will come. We are currently witnessing this by the forum traffic and Mint's current DistroWatch rank.
