Where do I find screensavers

Postby jacatone on Mon Jun 25, 2012 4:13 pm

I'm using LM 10 LXDE which come with xscreensaver 5.11, but has no screensavers installed. Where and how would I get them for this distro? Thanks.

Hi, open synaptic package manager and search for xscreensaver. you will get a list of packages. already installed should be xscreensaver and xscreensaver-data. these will give you the defaults as shipped with mint. for additional screensavers install the following. However if you wish to use GL screensavers you need 3D acceleration enabled graphics drivers installed or they will fail to run or lock your system up:

xscreensaver-data-extra, xscreensaver-gl
and xscreensaver-gl-extra
A fact is a simple statement that everyone believes. It is innocent, unless found guilty. A hypothesis is a novel suggestion that no one wants to believe. It is guilty, until found effective.
