How do you adjust color depth in LXDE

I'm running LM 10 LXDE and can see the default resolution is 1024x768 16bit color. How would I adjust it to 24 or 32 bit to get rid of the desktop wallpaper color gradations. It say's it doesn't need a video driver update. Thanks.
