Difference between native window manager and installation

Postby dancork1 on Fri Sep 20, 2013 4:01 am

Hi Guys,

Recently installed the latest Mint (Olivia) and figured out pretty quickly that I would like to keep the LXDE window manager I had become familiar with using Lubuntu.

I installed via the terminal and everything seems to be working great.

My question:

Is there any difference (in terms of performance) between installing a non-native window manager, like this, and using the one that came by default with the distro (supposing that Mint still supported an official LXDE build)?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
