I friend of mine is using on his old PC with an old AMD Processor and only 256 MB RAM the RC version of Mint LXDE for a couple of weeks. I'm his PC maintainer
When I boot up the computer (blazingly fast 40s!!), everything seems to be fine, but after a couple of minutes (3-5min) the mouse pointer starts to move horizontally, from 1 desktop to all 4 just spinning around (and of course changing the desktop). Sometimes it even starts (??) some applications or the "About LXPanel" Window or just PcManFM. I changed the numbers of desktops from 4 to 1, but it didn't help much. I'm able to repress this strange behaviour by hitting the ESC-button, but after a couple of minutes it starts again.
What can be the problem? Is it an openbox-problem, LXDE or is something missing that I need to install or some strange setting? What other information do you need to help me solve the problem? Can someone reproduce my problem or report something similar?
I really like the LXDE version and I think it's a wonderful version for this old pc, but to work on it, is at this time impossible. My friend uses also the Main version on his newer laptop and I thought it would be nice, that he can use something similar on his old pc as he had XP installed on it, which booted up for 10minutes and to work on it was a similar pain in the a** but on the other hand the desktop was not spinning around
