I have just installed a copy of Mint XLDE onto a 1Tbyte hard drive, which has two partitions.
On the second partition, I created a folder called store to copy backup files and other general stuff to de-clutter my home folder on the system partition.
When I try to copy files to the folder, or create sub folders, the computer temporarily locks up and then returns an error message saying that there insufficient space on the disk. I've checked for hidden files and run “df” in a terminal which confirms only 4% of the disk space has been used.
I have simply got around the problem by creating another folder on the same partition and that works fine. I checked to make sure the permissions on the original folder were OK, which they were and the problem persisted when I logged on as root.
I've done a search, but can't find any references to others having similar problems. Has anyone else encountered this?
For reference my system consists of:
Zotac Geforce 9300 ITX motherboard
Intel Q8400 cpu
Samsung HD103s hard drive
4 gig memory
OS as stated was Mint XLDE downloaded last week the kernel is reported as 2.6.32-23 generic
