Login with "Numlock" on (SOLVED)

Using Mint 11 LXDE. Love how lightweight and fast it is.

One annoyance is that when I startup every morning I have to hit NumLock manually.

Is there a way to make it automatic at startup like it was in gnome?

You can edit autostart at /etc/xdg/lxsession/Mint/autostart. See http://douwil7.100webspace.net/linux/Tuning.html#16 for more information.

Make sure NumLock is enabled in your computer's BIOS.

AlbertP- I checked in my BIOS and there is no section for NumLock.


Seppalta- I've used that resource before for other LXDE tweaks. It's very useful but I find nothing pertaining to NumLock in the autostart section. You have given me a better starting point though.

Apparently there is a tool in Synaptic that may help you. It is called numlockx. For directions on using it, refer to http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/how-to-linux-turn-on-num-lock-on-gnome-startup/. I never use numlocks. Let me know here if this works.

That did the trick. I had to use the second option as there was no gdm file on my system
