Touchpad not working update

Hi all. I've just installed Lisa lxde on an old asus laptop. Installation was fine but when I updated everything, afterwards I found that my touchpad suddenly has stopped working. The hardware seems fine as I am using the liveusb again on the same laptop. Can anyone point me to any fix?

There was a fix for the standard edition outlined in another thread: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=87033

To sum it up, if I am reading to correctly, you need to install gpointing-devices-settings and make sure to uncheck the "disable touchpad" checkbox. Not sure if it will work in LXDE or not.
