Mouse settings change during session, without logging out

Hi all,

I found info in the forums about what to do if he mouse settings don't stay from one login to the next, but my problem is different - I can for example choose a different cursor acceleration, and minutes or hours later (seemingly random), the default setting is back without rebooting, just while I am working with the computer.

Would be nice if there was a solution - any ideas?

Start with dmesg and if that doesn't tell you something look at /var/log/messages.

Sorry but I can not understand that answer. Maybe I could understandit with more details or explanation.

Please, does anyone has a workable solution for me to make my mouse settings stick that a normal person can understand and put in place?

I hope no one will be offended if I say that I don't think a user of Mint LXDE should be expected to spend hours of searching and learning about the depths of Linux just to be able to make the mouse settings stick...

You can try some system monitoring tools to see if you spot anything, usually you might want to save changes to a loc (/var/log/logfilename.log ), whatever name you are assigned by the monitor application (if it offers to log data) or your own file name choice..

If it is really an odd system change you don't see, that is the cursor selection for the mouse gets changes you haven't made yourself, the normal operations of the system may not show anything you can easily detect
--therefor you need to monitor or collect data (*.logs) or look at sytsme messages, in a terminal (console) via..
