how to request a new software

Does anybody know how can I request for a new software to be added to the repositories?

Yes, head on over to the Community website and post the idea for it there (be sure to mention which Linux Mint version you are using and include a link to the software's homepage and a description of why it should be included). http://community.linuxmint.com/

After you register an account, or login, you can add an idea from My Places > My Ideas.
