desktop settings resets to default automatically

Hello all,

On my linux mint 13 cinnamon after installation I ve changed some desktop setting like sound sytem on analog, brightness, volume setting, graphical setting. But as I switch on my system next time all settings resets on default automatically and for that work session I ve do all my previous setting again.please help by guiding me how to rectify this problem?
