WARNING: Do not download and install software from the Internet if you do not absolutely trust the source. Just like on Windows and OS X, a program may have been tampered with and it may in fact be a trojan or other malware. I'm not stating that is the case here (neither am I saying it isn't), just to use common sense and keep your computer safe.
@Goro Daimon, no disrespect intended, but users new to Linux should be aware that (in general) they are taking a risk by installing software this way. Perhaps add a tutorial on compiling it
