Mint 13:update changed panel position of gnome fallback

Hi
as the title says:
after the latest update to Mint 13 Maya Cinnamon,the position of the panel in Gnome fall back mode has changed from bottom to top.Also there are no more log out or shut down options in the menu,which were there before the update.
I looked and tried a lot ,but cant find where or how the panel position in fallback is defined.
Any Help?
