A tip to watch out for

Not sure where this would go sooooo.
I've spent the last month trying to find something that didn't act like it was broken and as it turns out, the distro's weren't broken at all.
I'm running an x686 with a wired mouse. I had problems with what seemed like the monitor freezing yet had keyboard function, the cursor going berserk and opening multiple windows or the cursor seeming to "hang". This always happened a day or so after a fresh install. It even happened with 3 fresh installs of Mint. This never happened before the last kernel release so I assumed it had something to do with an error with the kernel that was being overlooked.
Once I got past the duh moment and noticed it was happening across nearly every distro I was trying, I disconnected the old wired mouse and plugged in my wireless. The problem went away.
The wired mouse is an old hard wired lazer mouse. The "feet" on the bottom are slightly worn so it's no longer completely level. I assume something in the newer kernel doesn't like this. I've read posts in several forums complaining of this issue to include no mouse function at all. If you're experiencing any of these things, try changing your mouse.
