vmware-server installation trouble on mint 12

Postby oeeve on Tue Jul 24, 2012 5:35 pm

I'm trying to take the step from vmware player over to vmware server, but the installation process gives me some trouble.
I'm running Linux Mint 12 atm and everything went smooth until I got this question during the installation process:

Code: Select all
What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running
kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include]

I tried to tell it:
Code: Select all

which is my kernel name, but no luck.

Code: Select all
The path "/usr/src/linux-headers-3.0.0-12/include" is a kernel header file
directory, but it does not contain the file "linux/version.h" as expected.
This can happen if the kernel has never been built, or if you have invoked the
"make mrproper" command in your kernel directory.  In any case, you may want to
rebuild your kernel.

If anyone here have any experience with vmware on mint, or have any idea what I could try. It would be greatly appreciated:)
