Matlab MEX file compilation on Mint14?

I have the configuration of Mint 14 Cinnamon. I installed Matlab and try to compile MEX fies and get error that says my gcc compiler is gcc-4.7.2 but matlab supports gcc-4.4. I tried to install 4.4 version with corresponding g++ and gfortran packages and set the Matlab mex options scrit accordingly but it did not work. Is there any interface or known solution for that problem to compile mex files on newest Mİnt?
